Alessia has always held a deep fascination with Arabic culture. It’s difficult for her to pinpoint an exact reason why, rather, she prefers to focus on the warmth and generosity of the people she has met. Her trajectory into the Middle-Eastern world has also lead her to contribute professionally for Flair Media, an Istanbul-based media company. She was staying in the capital with a friend when the recent uprisings took place. “He checked his phone and we discovered that there were militias on the Bosphorus bridge.”
She has penned political and musical articles for publications such as L’Indiependente in Italy. Her spell with Publica La Nuova Ecologia(Italy), saw her interview Saskia Sassen, a Dutch-American sociologist who is known for her work on globalisation and human migration. She hails from the province of Taranto in Italy, the capital of Magna Grecia, where the Greek empire once extended to during the 16th and 17th century. She is a graduate in International Politics and Social studies at the University of Bologna.
