“I always had the dream of going to St. Petersburg during the cold season to see the Winter Palace covered by snow”, says the in-training journalist Antonella Serrecchia. Since high school, she has been developing a passion for the Russian culture, “because it’s such a contradictory country, and contrast is where beauty happens”.
The 24-year-old Milanese speaks five languages but, of course, she ended up moving to the Netherlands, a land whose idiom she doesn’t know. Because, why not make things complicated?
Antonella’s idea of Journalism is inspired by the work of Italian reporter Giuseppe Fava: “rely on truth to realize justice and defend liberty”. This motto has much to do with politics, a topic she sees herself covering in the near future – hopefully for the Moscow Times.
‘All the variety, all the charm, all the beauty of life is made up of light and shadow.’ Leon Tolstoy, Anna Karenina
